Decomposed body of woman found in house in Muthurwa

A woman was found murdered and his body wrapped in a bedsheet in the Muthurwa area, Nairobi County.
The victim was identified as Resa Lumbasi, 40, police said. The body had decomposed when it was found on January 7 by locals. They had complained of being disturbed by a foul smell from the house when they went to check the source.
Police who visited the scene said the body had visible injuries in the head and that the door had been locked from outside.
The motive of the murder was not immediately established. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.
In the Timau area, Meru County, the body of a man aged about 40 was found on the roadside after murder.
The victim was identified as John Gikundi Murungi. Police said he had two stab wounds in the chest and on the right hand.

In Matete, Kakamega County, a suspect was lynched by a mob in an incident. This was after he was accused of stealing two chickens.
Police arrived at the scene and moved the body to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.
Police discourage mob lynching incidents and want suspects be surrendered to authorities for processing.
Dozens of suspects who are deemed innocent are killed in such incidents in the country amid investigations.
