Raised in a family with parents Fernando Cadavid and Gloria Elena Chica, he developed an early interest in the arts, though he initially dreamed of becoming a drummer.

Cadavid’s breakthrough came in 2004 with La saga: Negocio de familia, where he portrayed three brothers, Pedro, Manuel, and Óscar Manrique, in a multi-generational crime drama that spanned decades.
Throughout the 2000s and 2010s, he expanded into films such as El carro (2003), A Ton of Luck (2006), and The Snitch Cartel (2011), showcasing his range in genres from comedy to action.
In more recent years, he starred as Robin Ruíz in 5 viudas sueltas (2013–2014), Álvaro José Salas in La ronca de oro (2014), and Iván Vallejo in the Netflix remake of Café con aroma de mujer (2021), while also contributing as a cinematographer on select projects.
