The Director of Public prosecutions (DPP) through senior assistant prosecutor Alexander Muteti said that they intend to appeal the High court decision that barred them from arresting the Mombasa governor Hassan Joho over a forged result slip.

The ruling by Justice Eric Ogola said that the office of DPP was acting fraudulently in reinstating the case saying that it was untimely and politically motivated and that it was not consistent with the constitutional values. According to Justice Ogolla case was meant to intimidate and harass the Mombasa governor.
