The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) today met with the Presidential candidates over the ballot paper printing tender that was halted by the high court on Friday.
IEBC Chairperson, Wafula Chebuakati called for the consultative meeting with all the eight candidates.
Present during the meeting was Thirdway Alliance Party Presidential candidate, Ekuru Aukot who accused the commission of wasting their time.
According to Ekuru, the commission is planning to appeal the court’s decision and saw no need to discuss what was going to be taken before the courts.
Mr Aukot also said that the commission was not being open with the candidates.
Aukot then asked to be excused from the meeting as he needed to ‘hunt for votes.’
Also present was Abduba Dida who joked that he too could print the ballots or have the tender given to Kenyatta University.
NASA Presidential Candidate Raila Odinga and Jubilee’s Uhuru Kenyatta were not present during meeting.
The High Court halted the Al Ghurair tender twenty eight days to the general elections.
