The son to Dagoretti North MP Beatrice Elachi will be buried at their family home on March 29 in Nalepo Village, Kajiado County.

Elvis Murakana Namenya died at a city hospital after a road accident along Thika Road.

This is after a salon car he was driving veered off the road and hit a pole near Roasters area on Tuesday.

The family said he was slated to graduate from Africa Nazarene University in June 2025 after completing his Business Studies.

A memorial service in his honour will be held at Holy Trinity Church, Kileleshwa, on March 28, 2025, starting at 10:00 am.

The final funeral service and burial will take place at the family home in Nalepo Village, Kajiado County, beginning at 10:00 am.

The cortege will depart from Lee Funeral Home at 7:00 am on March 29.

Several leaders have mourned the death.

First Lady Rachael Ruto, Mama Ida Odinga, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula, Director of Public Prosecutions Mulele Ingonga are among those who visited Elachi at her Nairobi home to offer their condolences.

President William Ruto is among those who mourned the death.

ODM leader Raila Odinga Wednesday sent a message of condolence to Elachi following the death of her son in Nairobi.

    Raila termed the death painful.

“I know you are heartbroken and I know your world has turned inside out following the death of your son, Elvis Murakana Namenya. We don’t, indeed we can’t carry the weight you carry in your heart and body right now. Even though we feel your pain, we can’t feel it in the exact way you do. But be assured you are not alone.”

“Be assured that we know the strength of the pain you are struggling with currently and we wish we could shoulder it for you.

Draw some strength from the assurance that we are with you in spirit, thought and prayer. We wish to see you heal and be your vibrant self again. I believe your son would wish you that,” he said in the message.

He assured Elachi she shall overcome.

“Indeed you must overcome. You owe Elvis that. And we will walk with you the journey until you overcome and recover fully.”
