
Kenyan pop group Elani have also joined the group of artists calling for political consciousness by the citizens and accountability towards our leaders.
The trio have released a new song “Mahindi”, off their debut album “Barua ya Dunia”. The song urges Kenyans to speak up more on the rising case of food insecurity and high cost of living.
In a press release on Tuesday, Elani called Kenyans to take action against food injustices and hold leaders to account.
“We cannot let our people starve to death and not raise our voices against it. Life and death. We cannot be quiet about it. And it’s time we discuss it,” reads the statement.

They also urge Kenyans to learn more about the problems and propose solutions. They also propose joining of initiatives that are working to solve the problem as short term donations will not solve long term problems.
The song joins the list of other powerful songs that urge Kenyan politicians to have the citizen’s best interests at heart.
