Elderly couple found dead in house after suspected murder in Nakuru

Detectives are investigating an incident where an elderly couple was found dead in their house in Salgaa area, Nakuru County.

It is believed the couple aged 90 and 63 was killed in their house at Muthiga village within Matuiku area.

Police said they found two bodies of one Joseph Kihiti Ndegwa, and Betrosa Wanjiku Githuri, both husband and wife, in their house, having been suspected to have been murdered by unknown persons at an unknown time.

The two are believed to have been murdered on Saturday before the bodies were discovered on Sunday afternoon. The bodies had multiple injuries when they were discovered, police said as they moved them to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations.

The motive of the murder was yet to be known, police said on Monday.

Elsewhere in Chemilili, Kisumu County, a man identified as Silas Kityeso, 35 was found dead outside his residential house.

The deceased was an employee at a farm in the area.

Police said the body had multiple injuries in the head and chest.

The motive of the murder was not immediately established and the body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

In Makupa area, Mombasa County, a 19-year-old man was fatally stabbed in a fight over a woman.

The assailant who is aged 16 escaped the scene soon after the Sunday evening tragedy, police said.

The deceased was identified as Ahmed Swaleh and had stab wounds on the chest.

Witnesses told police the two had argued over a woman before the assailant used a kitchen knife to stab the deceased.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other investigations, police said as the hunt on the assailant goes on.

Such incidents where fights over women turn tragic have been on the rise. Police are pushing to solve them.
