He primarily plays as a left-back or left wing-back and currently represents Premier League club Hull City as well as the Sweden national team.
He is noted for his attacking contributions from the left flank, versatility, and goal-scoring ability relative to his defensive position.
Of partial English descent through his father, Stroud holds dual eligibility but has chosen to represent Sweden.
He rose through the ranks at local club IK Oddevold before establishing himself in the Allsvenskan with Mjällby AIF and making the step to English top-flight football in 2026.
He earned his first senior call-ups for Sweden in 2026, debuted that June, and featured at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Career
Stroud began his youth and early senior career at hometown club IK Oddevold.
He joined the senior side in 2019 and accumulated substantial experience across Division 1 and Division 2, scoring regularly and helping the team win promotion from Division 2 in 2021.
After strong performances that attracted interest from higher-division clubs, he transferred to Mjällby AIF ahead of the 2023 season.
At Mjällby he adapted effectively, initially contributing as a more attacking wide player or wing-back, and developed into a consistent performer in the Allsvenskan.
Over subsequent seasons he increased his goal output significantly, becoming a key creative and scoring threat from the left.
In 2025 he played a central role as Mjällby claimed their first Allsvenskan title and also contributed to success in the Svenska Cupen.
In August 2026 he signed a four-year contract with newly promoted Premier League side Hull City.
Internationally, after receiving his first senior call-up in March 2026, he made his debut in a friendly against Greece in June and went on to feature for Sweden at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Accolades
With IK Oddevold, Stroud was part of the side that won the Division 2 title in 2021.
At Mjällby AIF he contributed to the club’s historic first Allsvenskan championship in 2025 and to a Svenska Cupen triumph around the same period.
His individual recognition includes being named Allsvenskan’s best defender (or equivalent defensive honour) for the 2025 season following a campaign in which he recorded double-digit goals from a wide or defensive role.
