An Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) based in Embu County is currently distressed after their priest went missing two weeks ago.

Rev Stanley Kivuti, 34, mysteriously went missing after he left his home on April 4, 2019 for a church event in Kirinyaga County.

The man of the clothe, whose disappearance has now raised fears that he may have been kidnapped, had informed his wife that he would attend the event and return home after three days, but that did not happen.

After his failed return, his wife, Catherine Marigu tried to call his phone on the fourth day but his cell phone was switched off.

Consequently, she opted to report the matter at Manyatta Police Station.

Speaking on the report, senior police officer, Godfrey Kere established that indeed the family reported the matter and investigations are underway.

“It is true we have received a report on a missing person and we have started investigations,” officer Kere asserted.

According to the priest’s wife, Rev Kivuti was a man who related well with the parishioners and neighbors hence his disappearance raises more questions.

It is believed that the priest could have been ambushed and kidnapped on his way to the event in Kirinyaga over unclear reasons.

The family now wants high police authorities to help them trace his whereabouts.
