Endo Ward MCA Jeremiah Kibiwott Dies

Endo Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Jeremiah Kibiwott has died.

The death was confirmed on January 9 by Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, who expressed his condolences to the family, friends, and residents of Endo Ward in Elgeyo-Marakwet County.

“My deepest condolences to the family, friends, and people of Endo Ward, Elgeyo-Marakwet County, following the passing of Member of County Assembly Hon Jeremiah Biwott Toryebe,” Murkomen said in a statement.

The Interior CS described the late Kibiwott as a dedicated leader who served the community selflessly both as a teacher and later as an elected leader.

“Hon Toryebe touched many lives through his selfless service to society, including his work as an educator and, later, as an MCA,” Murkomen said.

He also highlighted Kibiwott’s role in promoting peace and development in the Kerio Valley region, which has faced security challenges in the past.

“We will fondly remember his contribution to sustainable peace and development in the Kerio Valley. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, colleagues, and all those who knew him during this difficult time,” Murkomen added.

Elgeyo-Marakwet County Assembly Speaker Lawi Kibire also mourned the late MCA, describing his death as a major loss to the Assembly and the people of Endo Ward.

“It is with profound sorrow and deep regret that I inform the public of the passing of Jeremiah Kibiwott Kiptum, the elected Member of County Assembly for Endo Ward in Marakwet East Sub-County,” Speaker Kibire said.

He praised Kibiwott for his dedication and commitment to public service.

“The late Kibiwott served the County Assembly and the people of Endo Ward with great dedication, commitment, and a strong sense of duty,” Kibire said.

The death comes just two weeks after Samburu County lost Porro Ward MCA Patrick Lerte, who passed away on December 28.
