Eugenia Cauduro Rodríguez, born on December 20, 1968, in Mexico City, Mexico, is a renowned Mexican actress and former model.

From a young age, she immersed herself in classical ballet and jazz, training rigorously and even performing with the Compañía Nacional de Danza from 1980 to 1986.

Although she stepped away from dance at age 20 to pursue other passions, this foundation in movement and expression profoundly shaped her later career on screen.

Educated at institutions like Colegio Boden Powel, CUDEC, and the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) where she studied industrial design, Cauduro’s diverse interests paved the way for her transition into acting.

    Siblings

Eugenia has a sister named Adriana Cauduro.

Born to parents Ernesto Cauduro Gemoets and Silvia Rodríguez Porras, the two sisters grew up in an environment rich with artistic legacy.

Their mother, a former ballerina, and their maternal grandfather, Dagoberto Rodríguez, a distinguished Mexican actor, undoubtedly inspired their paths.

While Eugenia carved out a spotlight in acting and modeling, details about Adriana’s personal or professional life remain more private.

    Career

At 15, Cauduro started modeling professionally, and by 1988, she was selected to represent Mexico in a prestigious Japan Air Lines calendar project.

Her breakthrough came in 1990 when she competed in an international beauty pageant in Panama, securing second place as “La Mejor Modelo Latina” among 30 participants from various countries.

This success led to her role as Televisa’s official image from 1992 to 1995, where she starred in promotional campaigns highlighting Mexico’s cultural wonders, solidifying her status as a national beauty icon.

Transitioning to acting, Cauduro honed her skills at Televisa’s Centro de Educación Artística, studying under luminaries like Sergio Jiménez, Adriana Barrasa, and Patricia Reyes Spindola.

Her television debut arrived in 1997 with the telenovela Alguna vez tendremos alas, where she portrayed Magdalena Arredón, marking the start of a prolific career in melodramas.

Over the decades, she has become a staple in Mexican soap operas, delivering memorable performances in hits like Abismo de pasión (2012) as the complex Damiana Garza, El color de la pasión (2014) as the scheming Magdalena Murillo Rodarte, Niña… amada mía (2003), and more recent series such as Por amar sin ley (2018-2019), Un camino hacia el destino (2020), Hijas de la luna (2021), and Amor dividido (2022).

    Accolades

Cauduro’s early acclaim came with a nomination for “Best Female Revelation” at the TVyNovelas Awards for her debut role in Alguna vez tendremos alas, followed by a coveted win for “Best Antagonistic Actress” in the same series, establishing her as a formidable talent in villainous turns.

Building on this momentum, she earned a nomination for “Best Co-Star Actress” at the TVyNovelas Awards for her nuanced performance in Abismo de pasión.

In 2015, Cauduro received another nomination in the “Best Co-Star Actress” category for her riveting work as Magdalena in El color de la pasión, further cementing her reputation for bringing layers of complexity to supporting roles.

Beyond these nods from Mexico’s premier television honors, her modeling achievements, including the runner-up title in the 1990 international pageant, highlight her early accolades in beauty and representation.
