    Fabolous is a prominent American rapper born John David Jackson on November 18, 1977, in New York City.

    Of Dominican and African-American descent, he was raised in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn.

    He first gained major recognition in the late 1990s while still in high school, appearing on DJ Clue’s radio show on Hot 97, which helped launch his professional career in East Coast hip-hop.

    Fabolous burst onto the scene with his debut album, Ghetto Fabolous, released in 2001 under Desert Storm Records and Elektra.

    He followed up with Street Dreams in 2003, another platinum success featuring top-charting singles such as “Can’t Let You Go,” “Into You,” and “Trade It All, Pt. 2.”

    In 2009, Loso’s Way marked a high point, reaching number two on the Billboard 200 and producing the hit “Throw It in the Bag” with The-Dream.

    Fabolous has also built a strong mixtape catalog, including the There Is No Competition series and The Soul Tape installments, showcasing his versatility and consistent output.

    Beyond solo work, he has been a sought-after featured artist on tracks like “Dip It Low” by Christina Milian, “Superwoman Pt. II” by Lil’ Mo, “Addiction” by Ryan Leslie, and “Say Aah” by Trey Songz.

    His longevity in the industry spans over two decades, with ongoing releases, freestyles, and appearances keeping him relevant in contemporary hip-hop.

    Fabolous has been nominated for two Grammy Awards, including Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group for “Money Goes, Honey Stays” with Jay-Z in 2010.

    He won the ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Music Award for Top Rap Song with “Make Me Better” in 2008.

    At the BET Hip Hop Awards, he secured the Viewer’s Choice award in 2009 for “Throw It in the Bag” and received nominations in categories such as Best Hip Hop Collabo and Best Mixtape for The Soul Tape 3 in 2014.

    Other nominations include Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Male Artist at the American Music Awards in 2007 and Best Male Hip Hop Artist at the BET Awards in 2010.
