    Ambassadors

Ambassadors representing various countries in Kenya have said changing the electoral laws so close to an election is wrong and against best global practice.

The envoys asked that the election Amendment laws of 2017  be shelved as it was just a reaction that is not well thought out and that they make it impossible for IEBC to carry out elections within the said timelines.

Ambassador Godec from the United State of America said that both political parties should engage the IEBC in dialogue instead of making unreasonable demands.

The ambassadors said that the international community was watching Kenya and urged the politicians to cooperate  in order to have a better election than the August 8 polls.

He also urged the IEBC to allow the media to cover the elections without intimidation, they acknowledged that the media played a key role in ensuring free and fair elections.
