Former Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati’s Father Dies

Mzee Patrick Wangamati, the father of former Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati and a former nominated Member of Parliament, has died.
The late Mzee Wangamati, who was a prominent political and community leader in Bungoma County, previously served as Mayor of Webuye Municipality under the former local government structure before later joining Parliament as a nominated MP through the FORD Kenya party.
He was also a respected member of the Bukusu Council of Elders, where he played a key role in offering counsel on community matters and mentoring emerging leaders.
Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka led leaders in mourning Mzee Wangamati, describing him as a distinguished son of Bungoma and a respected elder whose contributions left a lasting impact on the county.
“On my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Bungoma County, I convey our heartfelt condolences to the Wangamati family, relatives, friends, and all those touched by his life of service and humility. May the Almighty grant the family strength and comfort during this difficult moment, and may the soul of Mzee Patrick Wangamati rest in eternal peace,” Lusaka said.
