Gatanga CCM School is on spot over the death of a form one student who succumbed in school.

Ebbie Noelle Samuels is reported to have been pronounced death by Naidu Hospital medical practitioners in Thika, upon her arrival at the facility.

In a long post, highlighted by former Starehe parliamentary candidate Boniface Mwangi, the activist noted that the girl’s parents were called into her school only to find their daughter’s “lifeless, ice cold, body with a swollen tummy. She also had foam in her nostrils.”

However, when the parents inquired what happened to their child, the school principal Ms Veronica Wanjiku Mwangi informed them that their daughter had gone to sleep the previous night, but failed to wake up in the morning.

The father added: “She [the principal] went on to add that my daughter had run a cross country the previous day, finishing among the first 10, out of 900 girls. Later on, she ate dinner, went for evening preps, and then did her laundry before saying goodnight to all 1st Form students from 3 dorms and going to bed. ”

Ebbie is then reported to have failed to wake up the following morning and that was when her dorm mates alerted the matron who found her “unresponsive.”

According to the long post, the school deputy principal who was later called instructed that Ebbie’s clothes be changed before she would be taken to hospital.

Contrary to the school’s claim that she was taken to hospital before she died, the facility indicated that they received a dead body.

The distressed parents further lamented that upon returning to the school, the principal denied them a chance to see where their daughter slept on claims that it would cause panic to the rest of the students.

She only allowed them, after a long struggle, to take her belongings.

The parents noted that Ms. Veronica, had earlier mentioned to them that Ebbie  had washed her clothes and hung them on the lines, however, when they went to pick her stuff, they got a bucket of wet clothes which were mixed with dirty ones.

According to three autopsy reports carried by a government, school’s and an independent pathologists, Ebbie died from a head injury inflicted by a blunt object.

The injury then led to her bleeding at the vertex of her brain on the left and right sides.

As at now, Ebbie’s parents are seeking for information on the occurrence that led to the death of their child.
