Former Gor Mahia player Meddie Kagere has moved to Tanazania’s Simba Soccer Club after he signed a two year contract today.

The Rwandan striker is reported to have moved on a Ksh8 million signing fee and will earn a monthly salary of Ksh450,000 besides getting a fully furnished house and a car.

The player was previously being eyed by two Tanzanian clubs, Yanga and Simba after a thrilling performance at the Sportpesa Super-cup where he emerged the top scorer, helping Gor Mahia defend the title.

The move is said to be on a free transfer since he moved after is contract with Gor Mahia  expired earlier this week.

Gor Mahia FC National Treasurer, Sally Bolo posted on Facebook stating that the player had agreed that he would renew his contract on Wednesday, 27 June but that turned out not to be the case.

The player had asked for leave to go back to Rwanda to renew his passport only for Gor’s officials to learn from the press that he was negotiating with Tanzania’s Simba SC.

The club has indicated that this is a repeat of what he did when he left the club and came back six months later.

They acknowledged that they have no control over Kegere’s decisions and therefore wish him well in his endeavors.
