Mombasa Governor, Ali Hassan Joho has had the government make adjustments to his security detail a day after his swearing in to office for a second term.

The governor’s security team will now consist of GSU, administration and regular police officers, says Lucas Ogara, Mombasa OCPD.

”Joho is entitled to them. Elected leaders enjoy police protection based on provisions.”

Mr Ogara also noted that Joho’s bodyguard’s would be reinstated and police deployed to hi office and home.

The governor in January had his security detail withdrawn. Hassan accused the Jubilee government of withdrawing his security in a bid to intimidate him.

The government denied the claims saying the local police administration was making changes and asked Kenyans to avoid jumping into conclusions.
