    Governor Mutua, Kisii DG Escape Unhurt After Bridge Collapsed While Taking Selfies

    Machakos County Governor Alfred Mutua and Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi on Friday involved in an accident where they fell into River Gucha while taking selfies on the Nyabisiongororo bridge.

    The two were taking pictures when the bridge in Ogembo caved in injuring one journalist.

    Governor Mutua has been on an inter-county benchmarking exercise. The two have been rushed to the hospital.

    After the morning incident, the governor said ‘no one fell in the river or was hurt but we were splashed with water.’

    “I feel blessed and baptized by the waters of this very important river. The people of Gucha are telling me now I have become their child and should even come and build a home in the region,” he said on social media.
