Govt Announces Vacancy for National Research Fund Board Chair

The government has announced a vacancy for the position of Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the National Research Fund (NRF).
In a notice issued on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary and the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs outlined the qualifications required for the position.
Applicants must be Kenyan citizens and hold a doctorate degree from a university recognized in Kenya. They must have at least 15 years of leadership and management experience in public or private institutions, knowledge and proven experience in finance and investment, and a strong track record in fundraising and resource mobilization. Candidates must not be serving public servants and must meet the integrity requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
Applicants are required to submit a detailed curriculum vitae, copies of academic and professional certificates, transcripts, a National Identity Card or passport, relevant testimonials, and names and contacts of three referees.
Applications should be sent to: The Chairperson Selection Panel for the Appointment of Chairperson and Members of the Board of Trustees of the National Research Fund, NACOSTI Plaza, P.O. Box 26036-00100, Nairobi, or delivered to NRF offices on the third floor of NACOSTI Plaza between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on working days. A scanned and signed application should also be emailed to selectionpanel@nrf.go.ke.
Envelopes must be clearly marked “APPLICATION FOR CHAIRPERSON OF THE NATIONAL RESEARCH FUND”.
