Govt Invites Applications for Enlistment as Professional Irrigation Service Providers

The government has invited applications from qualified individuals and firms seeking enlistment as Professional Irrigation Service Providers.
In a notice issued on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, Principal Secretary in the State Department for Irrigation, Ephantus Kimotho, said the move is in line with Regulations 16, 98 and 99 of the Irrigation (General) Regulations, 2021.
According to the notice, eligible services for enlistment include pre-feasibility studies, feasibility studies and detailed design, installation or construction of irrigation systems, construction supervision, as well as scheme administration and management.
Applicants are required to possess a degree or diploma from a recognized institution in a discipline relevant to irrigation services, with at least five years’ practical experience in a related field. They must also be registered with the relevant professional body where applicable.
Foreign professionals will be required to obtain a permit from the National Construction Authority.
“All qualified professionals, firms or contractors seeking to provide irrigation services or undertake irrigation works must be enlisted by the Cabinet Secretary,” the notice read.
The requirement will take effect from July 1, 2026.
Applications for enlistment, both for local and foreign professionals, are to be submitted through the eCitizen portal via the State Department for Irrigation’s online services platform.
Applicants have been advised to upload all supporting documents in PDF format at the time of application.
