    Grisly Accident Along Thika-Garrisa Highway Claims 17 Lives

    An accident along the Thika Garissa highway has claimed 17 lives. The accident happened on Sunday night. According to the police at the Ngoliba police station the accident was caused after a matatu belonging to Kinatwa Sacco tried to swerve to avoid hitting a motorcycle.

    The matatu the rammed head on collision to an on coming lorry. The driver and his ten passengers died on the spot. Michael Lemaiyan, The Thika Traffic Base Commander said 4 other people died while undergoing treatment at the Thika Level 4 hospital.

    This latest accident puts the number of deaths caused by road carnage at 170 in the month of December only.
