Former GSU Officer Serving Death Sentence Escapes Siaya Prison

An ex-General Service Unit (GSU) officer on Thursday evening escaped from Siaya GK prison after being held for only three weeks.

Francis Musyoka was serving the death sentence before he jumped over the prison fence, making his way into a nearby thicket, a source told the Star.

”Our officers have erected roadblocks all over since last evening. We are certain the culprit is not out of Siaya,” Siaya OCPD Ancent Kaloki said.

The officers are said to have searched for the former anti-stock theft department officer the whole night unsuccessfully.

Musyoka was fired in 2015 after being found guilty of robbery with violence, handing him the death sentence.

“The culprit is accused of more than five robberies with violence across the country but the court only found him guilty in two cases and slapped him with the death sentence,”an officer said.

Officers have been on the look out since last evening and according to Mr Kaloki, Musyoka is still within Siaya.
