Harambee Stars Drawn Against South Africa, Guinea and Eritrea in PAMOJA 2027 AFCON Qualifiers

Harambee Stars have been drawn in Group D of the PAMOJA 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers alongside South Africa national football team, Guinea national football team and Eritrea national football team.

The draw sets up a competitive group as countries across the continent begin their qualification campaigns for the continental football showpiece, which will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania in 2027.

Although Kenya has already secured automatic qualification for the tournament as one of the host nations, Harambee Stars will still participate in the qualification matches alongside the other Group D teams.

A total of 48 countries will take part in the qualification campaign, with 24 teams expected to feature in the final tournament.

The PAMOJA 2027 AFCON tournament is scheduled to run from June 19 to July 17, 2027, marking the return of Africa’s biggest football competition to the East African region.

Among the teams in Group D, South Africa are the highest-ranked side, sitting 60th in the latest FIFA World Rankings, followed by Guinea at position 80. Kenya are currently ranked 111th, while Eritrea are placed 184th.
