Health CS Aden Duale Builds Modern Mosque In Honour Of Late Parents

Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has built a modern mosque in Garissa Ndogo, Garissa County, in memory of his late parents.

The mosque, named Masjid Al-Abrar, was officially opened on Arafa Day.

“On this blessed Day of Arafa, my family and I had the honour of officially opening Masjid Al-Abrar, a modern mosque built in Garissa Ndogo, Garissa County, in memory of our late parents,” said Duale during the ceremony.

The mosque has been constructed on the same land where the CS and his family were raised.

It features a large prayer hall for men, a dedicated section for women on the upper floor, a Ghusul area for Islamic burial preparations, and a fully equipped ambulance that will also serve as a hearse — all provided free of charge to the community.

Duale described the mosque as a Sadaqa Jariah — an ongoing charity — aimed at serving the people of Garissa both spiritually and socially.

The event attracted hundreds of faithful and several prominent figures, including former Cabinet Minister Mohammed Maalim and respected Islamic scholar Sheikh Umal Mohammed from Eastleigh, Nairobi, who led the first Dhuhur (noon) prayer at the mosque.

Other leaders in attendance included Abdi Bare Duale, Chairman of the Kenya Railways Corporation (KRC) Board, and several members of the Garissa County Assembly.
