Heavy Rains Disrupt Kenya Airways Flights at JKIA

Passengers traveling through Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) are experiencing flight disruptions after heavy overnight rains in Nairobi and surrounding areas interfered with scheduled operations.
Kenya Airways said the downpour forced some incoming flights to be diverted to Moi International Airport in Mombasa due to adverse weather conditions at JKIA.
The airline noted that the disruptions have also affected several departures scheduled for today, warning passengers that their flight schedules may change as operations gradually return to normal.
“Due to the adverse weather conditions, some of our flights were diverted to Mombasa. These disruptions have also affected some of our scheduled flights for today,” the airline said in a statement.
Kenya Airways said its operational teams are working to restore normal services and expects flight operations to stabilise later in the evening.
Passengers travelling from JKIA have been urged to check the status of their flights on the airline’s website and ensure their contact details are updated through the Manage Booking option to receive real-time updates.

The disruption comes as heavy rainfall continues to pound parts of Nairobi and other regions, with authorities urging caution due to possible flooding and travel delays.
