Herbert Tawa Mwachiro has resigned as the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) deputy chief executive officer seven months into the job.

Speaking exclusively to Kahawa Tungu, the guarded football commentator cited “differences in opinions” for his decision.

“I left end of May due to our differences in opinions,” he said, without revealing much.

He was deputizing Robert Muthomi who remains in his role as the CEO of the organization led by Nick Mwendwa as president.

According to close sources, Mwachiro was a frustrated man at the Kandanda house, Kasarani and felt isolated leading to him throwing in the towel.

His late last year appointment, sources say, was not well received by many.

However, Barry Otieno, the federation’s mouthpiece said nothing could be further from the truth.

“The federation did not renew his contract. As you know he was still under probation. It is as simple as that,” Barry said.

Mwachiro was in 2017 also appointed to the Confederation of African Football’s Youth Africa Cup of Nations organizing committee.
