Historic Christie Sevens set to crown 2026 National 7s Circuit Champions
Following the successful conclusion of the Embu Sevens this past weekend, all is set for the Christie Sevens in Nairobi this weekend, marking the culmination of the 2026 National Sevens Circuit and the 60th anniversary of the tournament.
KBL, through its flagship beer brand Tusker, has come on board with KES 1.5 million in support of the event, continuing its support for this year’s National Sevens Circuit.
Tusker’s sponsorship will support the organisation of the tournament, including efforts to enhance the overall fan experience at the RFUEA Grounds.
Speaking during the sponsorship ceremony, Christie Sevens Tournament Director Terry Adembesa said:

This is an important milestone for the tournament, and the support will go a long way towards ensuring we deliver a successful event for the teams and fans. The Christie Sevens will be held from Saturday, 12 to Sunday, 13 September at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi, bringing the curtain down on a fiercely contested National Sevens Circuit season.
The battle for the 2026 National Sevens Circuit title is set to go down to the wire after the pools for the historic 60th edition of the Christie Sevens were confirmed ahead of the grand finale this weekend.
Circuit leaders KCB Rugby headline Pool A alongside hosts Kenya Harlequin, MMUST Rugby and invited side Club Afrique, a new Pan-African invitational team featuring players from Kenya, Uganda, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
KCB will enter the final leg with the overall title firmly in their sights, with Kabras Sugar sitting six points behind the circuit leaders. The Bankers will be looking to close out the season strongly and secure the overall crown.
Pool B brings together Kabras Sugar, Blak Blad, NYS Spades and newly promoted Division Two champions Mean Machine.
Kabras, who claimed the Driftwood Sevens title, are the biggest threat to KCB’s position at the top of the standings. With only six points separating the two sides, every match at the RFUEA Grounds could prove decisive in the championship race.
For Tusker, the Christie Sevens will also provide an opportunity to conclude a season-long journey with the National Sevens Circuit, with the brand taking its Tusker Na Rugby platform to fans across the country.
