Blocking a YouTube channel can help in different scenarios. For instance, you may not want certain creators to appear in your feed, or you may want to stop your child from accessing specific content. - Blocking a Channel on Desktop
YouTube doesn’t provide a full “block” button like some platforms, but you can take effective steps to limit a channel’s presence in your experience.
To stop seeing content from a particular channel in your recommendations:
- Go to the video from the channel you want to block
- Click the three dots (⋮) next to the video title
- Select “Don’t recommend channel”
This tells YouTube not to suggest videos from that channel anymore, reducing its visibility on your homepage and recommendation list.
If the channel is commenting on your videos and you want to prevent that:
- Visit the channel’s main page
- Click on the About tab
- Click the flag icon and select “Block user”
- Confirm by clicking Submit
This will stop them from commenting on your videos, even though their channel still exists.

On the YouTube mobile app, you can also stop channel recommendations or block user interactions:
To remove recommendations:
- Tap the three dots next to a video
- Select “Don’t recommend channel”
To block a user from commenting on your content:
