How to Create Google Meet Link

Google Meet makes it easy to hold online meetings, classes, interviews, and group discussions from a computer or smartphone. Learning how to create Google Meet link allows you to invite people to a meeting without having to contact everyone individually. You can create a meeting link through Google Meet or Google Calendar and then share it with the people you want to join.
-
Open Google Meet
Start by opening Google Meet using your web browser or the Google Meet app.
Sign in with your Google Account if you are not already signed in. You need a Google Account to create and manage your own meetings.
- Open Google Meet
- Sign in to your Google Account
- Allow required permissions if prompted
-
Select New Meeting
On the Google Meet home screen, look for the New meeting option.
Select it to see the available meeting choices. Depending on the current Google Meet interface, you may see options for creating a meeting for later, starting an instant meeting, or scheduling a meeting through Google Calendar.
- Select New meeting
- Choose the option you need
- Continue to meeting creation
-
Create a Meeting for Later
If you want to create a link that you can share before the meeting starts, select the option to create a meeting for later.
Google Meet will generate a unique meeting link that you can copy and send to other people.
This option is useful when you already know the meeting details but do not need to schedule a specific date and time through Google Calendar.
-
Copy the Google Meet Link
After creating the meeting, copy the meeting link provided by Google Meet.
The link can then be shared with participants through WhatsApp, email, SMS, Facebook or another communication platform.
Before sharing it, check that you have copied the complete link.
- Select Copy
- Check that the link is complete
- Save it somewhere convenient
-
Share the Link With Participants
Send the Google Meet link to everyone who needs to attend the meeting.
You can include the meeting date and time along with the link so participants know when to join.
For example, you can send the link through a WhatsApp group if you are organizing an online class or group discussion.
- Share the link privately or in a group
- Include the meeting time
- Tell participants what the meeting is about
-
Start an Instant Meeting
If you want to meet people immediately, you can choose the option to start an instant meeting.
Google Meet will open the meeting and provide the information needed to invite other participants.
Copy the meeting details and send them to the people you want to join.
-
Create a Link Through Google Calendar
You can also create a Google Meet link when scheduling an event in Google Calendar.
Open Google Calendar, create a new event, enter the meeting details and add Google Meet video conferencing to the event.
The Meet link will be attached to the calendar event and can be shared with invited participants.
- Open Google Calendar
- Create a new event
- Add Google Meet
- Enter the date and time
- Save the event
-
Test the Meeting Link
Before sending the link to a large group, check that it opens correctly.
You can open the link in your browser and confirm that it takes you to the Google Meet joining screen.
Testing the link can help you avoid confusion when the meeting is about to begin.
-
Prepare Your Camera and Microphone
Before joining or starting the meeting, check your camera and microphone settings.
Make sure the correct microphone and camera are selected and that your browser or app has the required permissions.
If you do not want to appear on camera, you can turn the camera off before joining.
-
Keep the Meeting Link Secure
Avoid posting private meeting links publicly when the meeting contains confidential information.
Share the link only with the intended participants and use appropriate meeting controls when available.
This is especially important for business meetings, interviews, private classes and other sensitive discussions.
-
Join the Meeting Using the Link
Participants can open the Google Meet link you send them.
They can then follow the instructions on their screen to request or complete their entry into the meeting, depending on the meeting settings and account type.
Make sure participants know the correct meeting time so they do not attempt to join too early or miss the meeting.
