How To Make Green Tea

Green tea is a refreshing and healthy beverage known for its antioxidants and metabolism-boosting properties. Making green tea properly ensures you get the best flavor without any bitterness. The key is to use the right water temperature and steeping time. Here is how to make green tea.

Ingredients and Tools

Steps to Make Green Tea

  1. Heat the Water
    • Bring water to about 80°C to 85°C (176°F to 185°F). Avoid boiling water, as it can make the tea taste bitter. If you don’t have a thermometer, let the boiled water cool for about 2 minutes before using.
  2. Prepare the Tea
    • If using loose tea, add 1 teaspoon of green tea leaves per cup to a strainer or infuser.
    • If using a tea bag, place it directly in the cup.
  3. Steep the Tea
    • Pour the hot water over the tea and let it steep for 2 to 3 minutes.
    • Steeping for too long can make the tea bitter, so adjust based on your taste preference.
  4. Strain and Serve
    • Remove the tea leaves or tea bag.
    • Add honey, lemon, or mint for extra flavor if desired.
