How to Remove Followers on Twitter

Managing your social media space is an important part of maintaining privacy and control over your online presence. There may be times when you want to limit who follows you, whether for personal comfort or to keep your content more relevant. Learning how to remove followers on Twitter helps you take control of your account without needing to block users completely. The process is simple and can be done directly from your profile settings.

  1. Log In to Your Twitter Account

Start by signing in to your Twitter account using your username and password. Make sure you are accessing your account from a secure device.

Once logged in, go to your profile to view your followers.

  1. Open Your Followers List

From your profile page, click on the “Followers” section. This will display a list of all the people currently following your account.

Scroll through the list or search for a specific user you want to remove.

  1. Remove the Follower

Next to each follower’s name, you will see a menu icon (usually three dots). Click on it to reveal more options.

Select the option that allows you to remove the follower. This will remove them without notifying the person.

  1. Consider Making Your Account Private

If you frequently need to remove followers, you may want to switch your account to private mode. This allows you to approve or deny follow requests.

Go to your privacy settings and enable the option to protect your posts.

  1. Block and Unblock if Necessary

If you do not see a direct remove option, another method is to block the follower and then unblock them. This forces them to unfollow your account.

After unblocking, they will not automatically follow you again.
