His family background is deeply rooted in the arts, with his mother, Dutch actress Adrienne Kleiweg, and his father, Greek sculptor Jorgos Chronis, fostering a creative environment.
Career

By the mid-1990s, he had established himself as a DJ under the moniker Mason, emphasizing groove, melody, and eccentricity while deliberately avoiding mainstream electronic music trends.
His breakthrough came in 2007 with the track “Exceeder,” originally an instrumental released on vinyl in 2006, which featured vocals and climbed to number one on the UK Dance Singles Chart.
This success marked his entry into broader recognition.
Over the years, Mason has released numerous tracks, albums, and remixes on influential labels including Island Records, Defected, Skint, Toolroom, Great Stuff Recordings, and Fool’s Gold Records.
He has remixed artists such as Moby, Steve Aoki, and Hadouken!, showcasing his versatility across underground and overground scenes.
In 2009, he founded his own imprint, Animal Language, through which he has released his own work as well as music from peers.
His productions often reflect a fun, anti-cliché approach, blending elements that keep him distinct in the electronic music landscape.
Accolades
Among his most notable achievements is the chart-topping success of “Exceeder” in 2007, which reached the number one position on the UK Dance Singles Chart and solidified his reputation in the dance music world.
His work has earned placements in high-profile contexts, including features in events like The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
Collaborations, such as with Stefflon Don on “Fashion Killa (Papapapa)” in 2016, and remixes for major artists have further highlighted his influence.
