IEBC announces May 14 By-Elections in Emurua Dikirr, Narok, Samburu and Elgeyo Marakwet

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission announced that by-elections will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, in three electoral areas across the country.

In a notice issued by the commission, voters will elect a new Member of the National Assembly for Emurua Dikirr Constituency in Narok County.

This follow the death of the area MP Johanna Ngeno in a chopper crash in Nandi County.

Two Member of County Assembly (MCA) positions will also be contested during the polls.

These are in Porro Ward in Samburu County and Endo Ward in Elgeyo-Marakwet County.

The commission said the by-elections will fill vacancies in the affected electoral areas, with candidates expected to be nominated by their respective political parties ahead of the poll.

IEBC is expected to release a detailed timetable outlining key electoral activities, including candidate nominations, campaign periods and voter preparations.

Residents in the three areas will head to the polls to elect leaders who will represent them in the National Assembly and county assemblies respectively.
