IEBC has termed National Super Alliance’s (NASA) petition disputing President Uhuru Kenyatta’s win in the just concluded August 8 election as vague.

The commission’s response to NASA’s petition said it was solely based on generalities, misconceptions and lacked particulars as required by the law.

The Wafula Chebukati led electoral body filed their response right after Kenyatta’s legal team submitted theirs.

“The Respondents state that they verified and accurately tallied the results of all the candidates in Page 6 of 25 declaring the results of the presidential elections in accordance with Article 138 (10) of the Constitution,” the response read in part.

IEBC denied there were anomalies in more than 10,000 polling stations between data entered in KIEMS and that entered on the forms 34A.

‘The data entered in KIEMS was statistics. The result of the election from each polling station was contained in Forms 34A. It is therefore incorrect to compare the statistics entered in KIEMS with the results from each polling station as contained in Forms 34A.”.

The commission maintained that the presidential results declared by Chebukati were based on forms 34B from all the 290 constituencies and the diaspora.
