    IEBC Official Arrested In Kilifi For Leaving Ballot Boxes Unattended

    iebcKilifi county, Magarini Polling Station presiding officer has been apprehended by the police for abandoning ballot boxes on Thursday.

    Nicholas Surei reportedly left the ballot boxes unattended after finding long queues at the constituency tallying centre.

    A search for him proved futile as he had switched off his mobile phone.

    IEBC and the police later got a hold of him and was asked to report back to the tallying centre.

    Mr Surei was arrested for absconding duty.
