Imam-ul-Haq is a Pakistani international cricketer known as a left-handed top-order batsman.
He was born on 22 December 1995 in Multan, Punjab, Pakistan.
He comes from a Syed Haryanvi Muslim family whose ancestors migrated from Hansi in present-day Haryana, India, during the 1947 Partition.
He is the nephew of former Pakistan captain and batting great Inzamam-ul-Haq.
His connection to Inzamam brought both attention and early pressure through nepotism allegations when he first entered the national side.
He married Anmol Mehmood, a doctor residing in Norway, in a ceremony in Lahore on 25 November 2023.
The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Inara Haq, meaning “ray of light,” in early 2026.
Siblings
Imam-ul-Haq has an elder brother named Ahtamad-ul-Haq.
Ahtamad is married and has a daughter named Amna.
Public information about Ahtamad remains limited, as the family maintains a relatively private personal life away from the intense media spotlight.
Career
Imam-ul-Haq first attracted attention in age-group cricket, including Pakistan Under-19 sides.
He showed promising form during his early years in the sport. He made his One-Day International debut for Pakistan on 18 October 2017 against Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi.
He immediately announced himself by scoring a century.
He became only the second Pakistani after Saleem Elahi and the thirteenth player overall to score a century on ODI debut.

He was named Player of the Match. His Test debut followed on 11 May 2018 against Ireland in Dublin.
He contributed a half-century in the second innings that helped secure a victory. He made his T20 International debut in 2019 against England.
In domestic cricket, he has represented teams such as Habib Bank Limited. He scored an unbeaten 200 in a Quaid-e-Azam Trophy final.
He has also represented Lahore sides and Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League.
More recently, he has featured for Yorkshire in English county cricket.
Across international cricket, he has accumulated thousands of runs. His record includes multiple centuries in both Tests and ODIs.
He has established a strong record as an opener in the 50-over format. His career has featured periods of consistent run-scoring interspersed with selection challenges.
He has nevertheless remained a regular presence in Pakistan’s white-ball setups. He has also continued to feature in red-ball cricket.
Accolades
One of Imam-ul-Haq’s notable achievements is his century on ODI debut in 2017. In 2018, he shared a record ODI opening partnership of 304 runs with Fakhar Zaman against Zimbabwe.
He became the fastest Pakistani to reach 1,000 ODI runs, achieving the milestone in 19 innings.
In 2019, he scored 151 against England.
At the time, it was the highest individual ODI score by a Pakistani batsman against England in England. He earned a place on the Limited-Overs Honours Board at Lord’s as the youngest Pakistani to do so.
In Test cricket, he became the tenth Pakistani to score centuries in both innings of a match. He achieved the feat against Australia in 2022.
He has also received central contracts from the Pakistan Cricket Board. He has produced substantial scores in domestic first-class and limited-overs competitions.
