105 IPOA Officers Deployed To 31 Counties Ahead Of August 8 Poll

The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) will be monitoring the conduct of the police during the August 8 poll.

IPOA will be monitoring the officers’ compliance to professionalism, human rights and fundamental freedoms and fostering of relations with the society. It will also watch out on how the Police will manage crowds, maintain security and order during the polling period.

105 officers will be dispatched to thirty one counties and seventy seven counties. In areas where the body does not have direct monitors, it will partner with KNCHR.

All its monitors will be easily identified with Staff badges, IEBC observer badges and an accreditation letter signed by the CEO.

Members of the Public are encouraged to report any cases of misconduct or commendations of the Police during the election period.

Officers found to have conducted themselves in an unprofessional manner will be held to account for their actions.
