James Van Der Beek’s Ex-Wife Heather McComb Marries Scott Michael Campbell

Heather McComb, the ex-wife of Dawson’s Creek star James Van Der Beek, has remarried in a private and emotional wedding ceremony in Montana.

The 49-year-old actress tied the knot with fellow actor Scott Michael Campbell on Saturday, May 30, in an outdoor celebration attended by close friends and family.

Taking to Instagram, McComb shared heartfelt details of the ceremony, describing the day as spiritually significant and deeply personal.

“Yesterday @scottmichaelcampbell and I under the covenant of God got officially married by my beautiful sister @essence_says surrounded by the people we love most in the world in our most favorite city Missoula, Montana,” she wrote. “Our hearts are full and humbled by all of the love that we were surrounded by.”

McComb also thanked guests who helped make the celebration “so special” and described the weekend as “truly magical.”

Photos from Dennis Webber Photography showed the bride in a lace-embellished wedding gown featuring a long train and veil, paired with a cross necklace. Campbell, 54, wore a white tuxedo jacket with black trousers and a black tie.

The couple exchanged vows in a scenic outdoor setting, accompanied by a large wedding party, with McComb’s side reportedly consisting of 13 friends and Campbell supported by 12 groomsmen.

“We are sitting here counting our many blessings,” McComb added. “Thank you to everyone who made this so special for us.”

Campbell also shared images from the wedding on his account, writing that he was “beyond blessed” and thanking friends and family for their support throughout the celebration.

The wedding comes months after McComb reflected publicly on the death of her former husband, James Van Der Beek, who died in February at the age of 48 following a battle with stage 3 colorectal cancer.

In an emotional tribute shared at the time, McComb described Van Der Beek as a “beautiful soul” and reflected on their long-standing connection, which predated his rise to fame on Dawson’s Creek.

“What a journey we shared over the years,” she wrote, recalling their enduring friendship and emotional bond. She also extended condolences to Van Der Beek’s wife Kimberly and their six children.

Van Der Beek had remarried Kimberly Van Der Beek in 2010. The couple shared six children together.
