Jetway Airlines is expected to launch scheduled flights between Nairobi and the Maasai Mara from December 1.
According to Caroline Kiptoo, the airline’s sales and marketing manager, the airline will offer daily scheduled flights from Wilson Airport to Maasai Mara National Reserve.
As a result flights at airstrips like Keekorok, Mara North, Serena, and Kichwa Tembo will be cancelled indefinitely.
Kiptoo says the move comes as a result of the rise in passenger demand particularly from local and international admirers of safaris.

“Over the years, we have been operating charter flights between Nairobi to the Mara, but owing to passenger demand, we will launch scheduled flights to the wildlife hotspot in December,” she explained.
This will be Jetway Airlines’ second scheduled flight route following the launch of the Nairobi-Wajir flights in August.
Kiptoo added that there are also plans of scheduled flights to Diani in Kwale.
According to Diani Reef Beach Resort managing director Bobby Kamani, if more airlines offer scheduled flights between Nairobi and Diani, there would be an increase of tourism in the area.
