Joshua Samuel Fatu, professionally known as Jey Uso, is a prominent American professional wrestler signed to WWE’s Raw brand.
Born on August 22, 1985, in San Francisco, California, he hails from the legendary Anoa’i family, a dynasty of Samoan wrestlers that includes icons like his father, WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi (Solofa Fatu Jr.), and relatives such as Roman Reigns, The Rock, and the late Yokozuna.
Jey Uso is celebrated for his high-flying athleticism, charisma, and the infectious “Yeet!” catchphrase that has turned him into a fan favorite.
Trained from a young age by his father, Jey debuted in independent wrestling circuits before joining WWE’s developmental system, where he quickly rose to stardom as part of one of the most dominant tag teams in history.
Beyond the ring, he is a devoted family man, married to Takecia Travis since 2015, with whom he shares two sons, Jaciyah and Jeyce.
Siblings
Jey Uso’s identical twin brother, Jimmy Uso, real name Jonathan Solofa Fatu, born just nine minutes earlier on the same day in 1985, is his closest counterpart in the wrestling world.
The duo formed The Usos, a tag team that redefined WWE’s division with their synchronized offense and unbreakable chemistry.
Another brother, Solo Sikoa, real name Joseph Yokozuna Fatu, has emerged as a formidable force on WWE’s SmackDown brand, leading The Bloodline faction and capturing the NXT North American Championship early in his career.
The family extends to Jeremiah Peniata Fatu, who stays out of the spotlight but supports the family’s wrestling merchandise business run by Rikishi, and their elder sister, Thavana Monalisa Fatu, the eldest among the five siblings.
Career
Jey’s wrestling odyssey began in 2007 on the independent scene, but his true ascent ignited in 2009 when he joined WWE’s developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), debuting as Jules Uso alongside twin brother Jimmy as The Usos.
They swiftly claimed the FCW Florida Tag Team Championships, honing a high-octane style infused with Samoan flair and aerial maneuvers.
Called up to the main roster in 2010, The Usos debuted as heels on Raw, ambushing The Hart Dynasty and aligning with cousin Tamina Snuka, demanding respect for their family’s legacy.

Early years saw them cycle through heel and face roles, battling teams like The New Day in epic rivalries that elevated tag team wrestling.
A pivotal shift occurred in 2020 when Jimmy’s injury sidelined him, thrusting Jey into singles competition; this led to his entanglement with cousin Roman Reigns, joining The Bloodline as the enforcer in a storyline rife with manipulation and betrayal.
Jey’s reluctant heel turn, marked by intense matches against Daniel Bryan and Edge, showcased his dramatic range.
The Usos reunited in 2021, embarking on a historic SmackDown Tag Team Championship reign that lasted 622 days—the longest for any male team in WWE history—while unifying the titles with the Raw version.
Tensions peaked at WrestleMania 39 in 2023, where they dropped the belts to Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, unraveling The Bloodline.
Jey superkicked Jimmy in a shocking betrayal, departing the group and embracing a babyface “Main Event” persona with massive fan support.
Transitioning fully to singles in 2023, he feuded with Gunther and others, culminating in a triumphant 2024 where he captured the Intercontinental Championship from Bron Breakker.
Accolades
As half of The Usos, Jey amassed eight tag team championships: three WWE Raw Tag Team Championships and five WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships, including the groundbreaking Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship unification.
Their fifth SmackDown reign etched history with 622 days, the longest male tag team title run in WWE annals.
Early accolades include the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship in 2010, setting the stage for main roster dominance.
In singles competition, Jey broke through with the 2021 André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal victory, his first major solo honor, followed by the 2024 Intercontinental Championship win over Bron Breakker, adding midcard prestige to his resume.
He later ascended to the pinnacle by dethroning Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 41 in 2025, becoming the fourth Bloodline member to claim world gold after 5,444 days in WWE.
Slammy Awards crowned The Usos Tag Team of the Year in 2014 and 2015, while Jey’s 2020 Feud of the Year with Roman Reigns earned CBS Sports acclaim.
Pro Wrestling Illustrated ranked him 26th in their 2014 Top 500, and peers hail The Usos as one of the greatest tag teams ever.
