Jorge Aravena, born Jorge Agustín Aravena Masías on October 1, 1969, in Lima, Peru, is a Peruvian-Venezuelan actor, presenter, and photographer who has made a significant mark in Latin American television.

He is the son of a Chilean father, Jorge Luis Aravena, and a Peruvian mother, Varo Masías.

He moved to Venezuela with his family at the age of 10, where he grew up and later adopted Venezuelan nationality.

Aravena’s career spans more than three decades, primarily in telenovelas, but also includes reality television, hosting, and photography.

He was married to Yenny Martínez from 1995 to 2007, and they have three children: Jorge Luis, Claudia Valentina, and Luis Fernando.

In 2009, he married Mexican actress Paola Toyos, with whom he has a son named Diego.

In recent years, he has lived between Mexico and the United States while balancing his professional career and family life.

He gained early recognition through roles in Divina obsesión in 1992, Sirena in 1993, Pecado de Amor in 1995, and Dulce enemiga from 1995 to 1996.

In the late 1990s, he starred in productions such as Todo por tu amor in 1997, Samantha in 1998, Mujer secreta in 1999, and Girasoles para Lucía from 1999 to 2000.

In Girasoles para Lucía, he portrayed the character Roberto Landaeta Santamaría.

During the 2000s, he played Reinaldo Arciniegas in La revancha in 2000 and Carlos Raúl Fonseca in Secreto de amor from 2001 to 2002.

He later appeared as Gabriel Reyes Bustamante in Engañada in 2003 and Arnaldo Rianchi in El amor las vuelve locas in 2005.

He expanded into Mexican television with Mi vida eres tú in 2006, Las dos caras de Ana in 2006, and Sin vergüenza in 2007.

In 2008, he played Ernesto Mendiola in Querida enemiga. In 2010, he starred as Gabriel Zárate in Zacatillo, un lugar en tu corazón.

During the 2010s, he appeared in La que no podía amar in 2011 and Una familia con suerte from 2011 to 2012.

He continued with roles in Porque el amor manda from 2012 to 2013 and Mi corazón es tuyo from 2014 to 2015.

He later appeared in Un camino hacia el destino in 2016 and El vuelo de la Victoria in 2017.

More recent projects include Cita a ciegas in 2019, Pituca sin lucas in 2024 as Manuel Gallardo, La mujer de mi vida in 2024, and Velvet: el nuevo imperio in 2025 as Gerardo Otegui.

Beyond acting, he hosted the game show Mega Match from 1997 to 1998.

He participated in reality television programs such as MasterChef Celebrity México and La casa de los famosos in 2021.

He has also made guest appearances in shows including Como dice el dicho in 2011 and Esta historia me suena from 2019 to 2021.

His film work includes a role in Santiago Apóstol in 2016.
