Jorma Taccone was born on March 19, 1977, in Berkeley, California. He is the son of Tony Taccone, longtime artistic director of the Berkeley Repertory Theatre, and Suellen Ehnebuske. He was named after Jorma Kaukonen, guitarist for Jefferson Airplane.
Taccone grew up in an artistic household alongside his brother Asa Taccone, a musician and member of the band Electric Guest. He is of Italian and Puerto Rican descent.
