Josie Loren, born Jocelyn Loren Lopez on March 19, 1987, in Miami, Florida, is an American attorney and former actress renowned for her contributions to television and film.
She gained widespread recognition for portraying Kaylie Cruz in the ABC Family series “Make It or Break It” and later as FBI Agent Michelle Vega in the CBS drama “The Mentalist.”
Loren’s family has Cuban roots, and her mother, Mercy Lopez, works as a middle school teacher in Miami.
She attended New World School of the Arts in Miami for high school, focusing on stage acting, and later graduated from UCLA in 2011 with a degree in Mass Communications and a minor in Spanish.
In 2018, she married former NFL quarterback Matt Leinart, and the couple has three children: sons Cayson (born January 2020) and Cannon (born May 2021), and daughter Camila May (born February 2025).

Career
Loren’s acting career began in 2006 with guest appearances on television shows such as “Veronica Mars,” “Drake & Josh,” and “Hannah Montana,” where she played the character Holly opposite Miley Cyrus.

She continued building her resume with roles in “Cory in the House,” “Medium,” and the holiday film “Christmas in Paradise” in 2007, followed by a supporting part as Nicole in the comedy “17 Again” alongside Zac Efron in 2009.
That same year, she starred in the Disney Channel movie “Hatching Pete” and landed her breakthrough role as gymnast Kaylie Cruz in “Make It or Break It,” a series about aspiring Olympic athletes that ran from 2009 to 2012.
Loren balanced her acting commitments with college studies at UCLA, demonstrating her dedication to both education and her craft.
Post-“Make It or Break It,” she appeared in films like “21 & Over” in 2013 and “Honor Student” in 2014, as well as guest spots on shows including “NCIS,” “Castle,” “Young & Hungry,” and “Hit the Floor.”
Her final major acting role came in 2015 as FBI Agent Michelle Vega in the seventh season of “The Mentalist.”
After retiring from acting in 2015, Loren pursued a legal career, graduating from law school in 2019 and specializing in corporate and sports law, particularly NIL agreements.

Loren earned a nomination for the Teen Choice Award for Choice Summer TV Star: Female in 2010 for her role in “Make It or Break It,” highlighting her appeal to young audiences.
The following year, in 2011, she was nominated for another Teen Choice Award in the category of Choice TV Actress: Drama for the same series, underscoring her dramatic range as Kaylie Cruz.
