CS interior Fred Matiang’i appearing before the parliamentary security committee has said that the government has not been issued with the court orders.
He said that the government was condemned unheard. He said that Miguna’s issue was not peculiar and that he signs deportation orders on a daily base. CS Matiang’ said that Miguna’s passport was not confiscated.

He said that Migunas file indicated that he had a acquired the Kenyan passport irregularly an issue that was discovered by PS Kihalangwa. He said that Miguna had renewed his Canadian passport to be valid for ten years and that the only option was to deport him
Matiang’i said that Miguna created an unnecessary hostile environment for him to assisted in any way.
Ps Kihalangwa said that Miguna was not kept in a toilet but stayed in a self contained room with a bed and bedding and disclaimed that the toilet that was featured was very clean.
CS Matiang’i said that he is not in the job to be popular and that they are putting a genuine effort to make things better especially on immigration department.
He said that there is a clique of Judicial officers and opposition civil society and lawyers who have an intention of embarrassing the government.
