Kaizer Chiefs are yet to pay Gor Mahia for transfer of Godfrey Walusimbi, Ambrose Rachier, the club’s chairman has said.

Rachier was responding to social media allegations attributed to one of the club’s officials that the money was already received and embezzled.

In a strongly worded statement that touched on various issues including the delayed payment of August salaries of players, Rachier was categorical that nothing could be further from the truth.

He went ahead and provided Chiefs contacts and challenged his doubters to confirm with the South African giants.

“It was a term of the agreement that the agreed sum would be paid to Gor Mahia Football Club account in two installments, the first in August 2018 and the second in January 2019.

Despite the allegations of the misguided and disgruntled louts that these funds have been remitted and defalcated by certain officials and perceived agents in their figments of imagination, I categorically state here and now that not a single rand or penny has been paid to the club or the officials of the club or alleged agent or at all,” the statement reads.

Walusimbi, 29, was officially unveiled as Chiefs player on 30 August on a three-year-deal after a protracted negotiations with Gor Mahia, who accused them of player tapping.

According to Kahawa Tungu sources, the deal was worth $70,000.

Meanwhile, Rachier has stated that the delay in paying players their August salary was due to “unavoidable” circumstances and that all their arrears including bonuses will be paid by close of business today (Monday).

He blamed “misguided and disgruntled” persons for trying to rock the club by “purporting to advocate our players’ industrial rights.”

Gor players have been on a go slow over the matter of salaries and boycotted training entire last week leading to back to back loses in the Kenyan Premier League.
