Kalonzo appoints new Wiper Patriotic Front leadership team

Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has unveiled a new leadership team, appointing a chairperson, deputy chairperson, deputy party leader designate and the party’s first spokesperson.
In a statement, Kalonzo said the appointments are aimed at strengthening the party’s leadership as it positions itself ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The new appointments include Jamleck Irungu Kamau as the party’s Chairperson, Ambassador Siyat Osman Ibrahim as Deputy Chairperson, Nyali MP Mohamed Ali as Deputy Party Leader Designate and lawyer Ndegwa Njiru as the Wiper Patriotic Front’s first Spokesperson.
Kalonzo said the appointments reflect the party’s commitment to building an inclusive political movement that represents the aspirations of Kenyans.
“These are not appointments of convenience, but of conviction. They strengthen a leadership team ready to deliver a United Alternative Government in waiting and to Komboa Kenya. Let us move forward together, united in purpose and focused on the task ahead,” Kalonzo said.
He noted that the new officials bring extensive experience in public service, leadership and governance, adding that they will play a key role in strengthening the party’s structures and advancing its agenda.
According to Kalonzo, the appointments are part of efforts to build a united and credible alternative government capable of addressing the country’s challenges.
The Wiper Patriotic Front is among the opposition parties positioning themselves for the 2027 General Election, with Kalonzo being one of the leading figures who have expressed interest in the presidential race.
The party was officially rebranded from Wiper Democratic Movement–Kenya to the Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) in mid-2025 as part of a broader strategy to reposition the outfit ahead of the next electoral cycle.
