Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops are in Jordan for an in depth training on how to counter terrorism.
According to reports over 100 troops have been selected from various units for the trained called ‘Swift Eagle 2017’, which will last two weeks.
During their time there the officers will study tactics focusing on conventional and asymmetric war threats.
They will also gain insight on alternative ways of fighting terrorism such as responding to different attacks, subduing terrorists who hijack planes and how to respond when terrorists attack villages.

Special Forces and Ranger Regiment are among two elite units taking part in the training with Jordan’s Quick Reaction Force.
KDF chief of training Charles Kang’ethe believes the program will help them address some challenges noted in their first training carried out at the Humanitarian Peace Support School at Embakasi Garrison, Nairobi in September last year.
“We come from different backgrounds with different doctrinal ways of conducting operations. For a successful operation between allied forces, such a training is a must,” Brigadier Kang’ethe said.
