Kenya Kwanza And ODM Adopt Six Joint Resolutions After High-Level Meeting

Kenya Kwanza and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) have agreed on six major resolutions aimed at fostering national unity and implementing shared development goals.

In a joint statement released after their Parliamentary Group meeting at the KCB Leadership Centre on August 18, 2025, leaders from both sides affirmed their commitment to peace and stability, vowing to work together in the interest of all Kenyans.

The statement was signed by Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot, National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah, Senate Minority Leader Stewart Madzayo and National Assembly Minority Leader Junet Mohamed.

Both sides pledged to put aside partisan politics and prioritize national cohesion. “We reaffirm peace and stability by working together to advance the national interest above partisan political expediency,” the statement read.

The meeting confirmed their commitment to fully implement the agreed 10-point agenda which will guide joint legislative and development work.

“We affirm our collective responsibility to ensure the full and timely implementation of the agreed 10-point Agendas,” the leaders said.

They promised to prioritize laws, budgeting and oversight in areas such as economic growth, job creation, healthcare, education, infrastructure, agriculture, good governance, and empowerment of youth and women.

The parties jointly committed to fighting corruption to safeguard public institutions and restore public trust in leadership.

They agreed to cooperate in Parliament on all matters of national importance, guided by transparency, accountability and public interest.

The leaders also committed to national dialogue and inclusive consultation processes, in line with the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and the NADCO report.

Finally, they agreed to hold a joint parliamentary group retreat later this year to enhance cooperation and streamline joint working arrangements to fully implement all agreed objectives.
