    Kenya’s Covid-19 Caseload Now At 172,639 As 148 Test Positive

    Kenya has announced 148 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours after 2,163 samples were tested. The country’s caseload is now at 172,639.

    This brings the country’s positivity rate to 6.8% as the cumulative tests so far conducted now at  1,836,410.

    Sadly, 21 deaths have been recorded in the last hours bringing the country’s death toll to 3,308.

    Also, 631 have recovered from the virus bringing the cumulative recoveries to 118,226. 135 patients were from various hospital facilities across the country and 496 were from the home-based care program.

    Currently, 1,147 patients are admitted to various hospitals across the country. Another, 4,802 patients are on the home-based care programme.

    A total of 102 patients are in ICU, out of which 26 are on ventilatory support.

    Also, 95 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen, out of which 88 are in general wards and seven in the HDU.

    County distribution is as follows: Nairobi 48, Homa Bay 46, Mombasa 8, Uasin Gishu 7, Machakos 6, Kisumu 5, Nakuru 4, Kiambu 4, Kilifi 3, Kajiado 2, Nandi 2, Tharaka Nithi 2, Narok 1, Trans Nzoia 1, Kisii 1, Laikipia 1, Turkana 1, Baringo 1, Bomet 1 and Busia 1.
