Kenya secured a major leadership position within the International Police Association (IPA) following the election of Jared Ojuok as President of the African Chapter.

The appointment was confirmed during the biennial regional meeting of the International Executive Board (IEB) held on Friday, February 13, 2026, in Manzini City, Eswatini.

The IEB meeting was chaired by IPA International President Martin Hoffmann and attended by Vice President and Chairperson of the International Relations Commission Oliver Hoffmann, Treasurer of Finances Kyriakos Perikleous, as well as presidents and secretary generals from the eight African member countries.

In his address, Hoffmann expressed strong confidence in Ojuok’s leadership.

“We have seen exponential growth in Section Kenya since Mr. Ojuok came into office, and we have no doubt that the same will be reflected across the African continent.”

He also congratulated the outgoing African Chapter President Vossie H. Voss for his focused leadership, noting that the Africa Region has set an example for the rest of the world.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Eswatini National Commissioner of Police Vusi Manoma Masango.

    Transition of Leadership

During the meeting, Ojuok — who previously served as deputy to Voss — officially assumed continental leadership from the IPA Section South Africa president. He will now be deputised by Outam Kumar Guness, President of IPA Section Mauritius.

The IPA African Chapter currently comprises eight member countries including Kenya, South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique, Mauritius, and Seychelles.
    Ojuok’s Vision for Africa

In his acceptance speech, Ojuok underscored the importance of strengthened cooperation, active recruitment, and increased joint activities across the continent.

He announced plans to recruit more African countries into the association, encourage young police officers from existing sections to register as members and strengthen collaboration between African Sections and the global IPA network.

As African Chapter President, Ojuok will serve as the official link between African Sections and the world body, chair key continental meetings, and represent African member countries at global IPA forums.

His elevation marks a significant milestone for Kenya’s growing influence within international policing networks.
